Thursday, December 5 …
We received 3-6" of snow this week and have very cold temps that will last into next week, perfect weather for snowmaking.
The latest forecast as of today is calling for snow developing Friday into Saturday, 4-8". It looks like our opening weekend will include fresh powder!
We are set to open at 9 AM on December 7 with Chairs 6 & 4, serving one run rated for intermediate and higher level skiers and riders (Sundown Ridge to Lower Tollhouse, Academy back to base area), about one mile in length, covering nearly 1,000 vertical feet. We'll also have a handful of terrain features along the run.
We will begin snowmaking operations at the top of the mountain this afternoon, Chair 2, and the very popular Kaiser Run, with hopes of opening that section as soon as possible. Of course, more natural snow would change all of this in a heartbeat, allowing more terrain to open very quickly.
We're also have two of our moving carpets open in the base area for our beginning and first time skiers and riders, plus a few beginner features. We will offer all of our ski & ride school programs for all levels, adults and kids.
All facilities will be open in the Day Lodge, as well as ski and board rentals, the sports shop, cafeteria and Jack's Place.
Lift ticket prices will be reduced to reflect the limited operations and will be as follows until we open more terrain (Chair 2): All Lift - adult $25, junior/senior $20, child $10. Rentals - adult (13+) $25, child $20. Moving Carpet Ticket - $15. Learn to Ski/Ride Package (13+) $50.
